National Eating Disorders Association: good information on various diagnoses and how friends and family can help, www.nationaleatingdisorders.com,

ANAD is a support organization dedicated to individuals and family members struggling with an eating disorder.  This non-profit provides education, advocacy and support groups all at no cost.  They can be found at www.anad.org.

Referrals for professionals and facilities that specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, as well as comprehensive information for individuals, family members and friends,

Gurze Books and Resources:  this company offers an extensive collection of books and resources on eating disorders, body image and depression.  Here you will also find helpful articles and listings of local and national inpatient treatment facilities, www.bulimia.com.

For those interested in supplementing their treatment with some at home exercises and support, www.SelfHelp.com, is a great resource.

Another supplemental website is www.dietsurvivors.com.  This site provides education and support for the purposes of countering society's obsession with thinness and celebrating natural body types and shapes.  This site offers a free monthly Diet Survivors group e-mail, as well as a quarterly newsletter.

 

A good site for spiritual and emotional support when dealing with body image issues is www.TrueCampaign.org.  It contains video clips from "real" people, free music downloads and great information about remaining true to yourself.

Here is a site with an abundance of information and links related to addiction and recovery, including eating disorders, www.myaddiction.com.  I'm sure you will find additional resources and support here.

A good site for general information on various mental health topics and relevant articles for today's living is www.PsychologyToday.com.

Most individuals working through recovery can benefit from ongoing support between office appointments.  http://www.key-to-life.com/ is not only a comprehensive website about eating disorders, but under the Mentor Connect link, an online support group can be found, as well as monthly teleconferences given by treatment professionals.  All services are offered at no cost to the user.  How often do you find that?
 

And finally, one of my very favorite sites that offers lots of good info on eating disorders, and a great resource directory, not to mention a catchy name, www.somethingfishy.org.
